BYK -347
Silicone surfactants for water-based coatings, printing inks and overprint varnishes , Significantly reduces surface tension and improves substrate wetting. Does not increase surface slip. Suitable for systems without co-solvents. Particularly good recoatability for thin coats (automotive coatings).
Chemistry Composition
polyether modified silicone

special Note
This additive is also suitable for systems without organic co-solvents. If the co-solvent content in the system continues to increase, the silicone surfactant will gradually lose its effect. In such formulations we recommend the use of polysiloxane additives such as BYK-333.
Apply Domain
paint and printing inks
Product characteristics and advantages: This additive can significantly reduce the surface tension of the water-based system, so Greatly improves substrate wetting and leveling. May cause slight foam stabilization but will not affect recoatability. BYK-347 has very good substrate wetting properties, especially for thin coatings. This additive does not increase surface slip. For better surface slip, combination with polysiloxane additives such as BYK-333 is recommended.
Recommended Purpose
This additive is recommended for all water-based paints, printing inks and varnishes , especially for formulations without co-solvents.
Suggestions Dosage
0.05-0.5% additive level (supplied form) based on total coating formulation.
0.1-1% additive dosage (purchase form) based on the total formulation of printing ink .
The above recommended dosage is for reference only, the optimal dosage needs to go through a series of experiments Sure.
Adding method and processing guidance
This additive can be added at any stage of production, but we recommend adding it later.
