special Reminder
Excessive addition may affect the drying performance of alkyd resin.
Apply Domain
paint Industrial
Features and advantages: The additive decomposes the pigment through steric stabilization flocculation. DISPERBYK-102 is primarily recommended for use in universal colorants prepared with DISPERBYK-185. It reduces viscosity and increases tinting strength. It can be used as a post-addition additive in solventborne and waterborne systems to improve tint strength and colorant acceptance.
Recommended dosage
Auxiliary dosage (as purchased) is based on pigment.
Inorganic Pigments | 5-10 % |
Titanium dioxide | 1-3 % |
after adding to improve color paste acceptance : 0.5-2% additives (purchase form) Based on total formulation.
The above recommended dosage is for reference, the optimal dosage should be determined through a series of experiments.
Joining method and processing guidance
For best performance, additives must be added to the mill first In the material, and then into the paint. The resin and solvent components in the millbase are premixed and the additives are added slowly with continuous stirring. Do not add pigments when the additives are not fully dispersed. In order to improveacceptance of colorants, the additive can also be post-added to the paint.
