Product Introduction
Vertellus offers various grades of castor oil products, the use of which depends on the acidity value, moisture content, color and purity of the product.
Since castor oil contains polar hydroxyl groups, it is compatible with various natural and synthetic resins, waxes, polymers and elastomers, and can be plasticized into the above various substances. At the same time, castor oil also has good softening and lubricating properties, as well as remarkable wetting and dispersing properties of dyes, pigments and fillers.
There are various chemical derivatives of castor oil, which makes it more widely used. The ester bonds, double bonds and hydroxyl groups in castor oil molecules provide reaction sites for the formation of various beneficial derivatives.
Castor Oil is a natural, non-toxic, biodegradable and renewable resource. Scientific and historical records show that castor oil from various sources has a very uniform chemical nature and composition. The typical values in Table 2 apply to the grades of refined castor oil in Table 1.

Grade Description
#1 Imported oil is industrial grade castor oil with the lowest refined grade. It is used in industries where moisture content and transparency are not critical.
AA® Standard Grade is a high purity castor oil for industrial use. It is specially used in the reaction requiring low color, low acidity and low moisture.
AA® US Pharmacopoeia grade castor oil does not contain impurities and spoilage substances, and also maintains the typical castor oil smell, flat smell, in line with the requirements of the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. AA® USP Grade meets USP requirements.
Crystal® Crown is a refined castor oil that contains antioxidants, is odorless, tasteless, light in color and highly transparent. Crystal® Crown meets the requirements of the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association standards for castor oil.
Crystal® O is a refined castor oil that is free of antioxidants, odorless, tasteless, light in color and highly transparent. Crystal® O meets the requirements of the USP and CTFA's castor oil standards.
Crystal® LC is a refined castor oil that meets the requirements of the USP. Crystal® LC is a pale viscous liquid with a molecular weight of 928. The main component (approx.) 90% is triglyceride of ricinoleic acid.
The extra gray grade is a castor oil that is lighter in color, has a slightly higher acidity value, and has a higher water content.
Filtered neutral oil Castor oil has a very low acidity value.
DB® Refined Oil is the highest grade of castor oil. It is specially designed for critical use in one place with low acidity and moisture content. DB® Oil is an ideal product for applications where a liquid is used such as sonar, liquid dielectrics and polyurethane reactions.
