Purpose
This product is used as a two-component non-yellowing polyurethane coating curing agent with good weather resistance. CORONATE 2384 and CORONATE HXT. Compared with it, it has faster drying ability.

Solubility Properties
CORONATE 2384 is used as non-yellowing polyurethane coating curing agent. Compared with biuret and urethane adduct curing agents, it has unique and excellent characteristics. Because of its excellent heat resistance and compatibility with polyols and solvents. CORONATE 2384 is widely used in industry. It is used in motorcycle and automobile parts, automobile repair, woodworking, etc.

CORONATE 2384 is soluble in most ester solvents, such as ethyl acetate, Butyl acetate; also soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, such as toluene, xylene and other solvents. However, alcohols, such as methanol, ethanol, etc. are not suitable for dissolving isocyanates.

When diluted
  CORONATE 2384 can be diluted to a solid content of 20%. However, please conduct a compatibility test with the diluted solvent before use after confirmation. When CORONATE HX is diluted to a solid content below 20%, turbidity and precipitation will occur. Please use a solvent with a moisture content of 0.1% or less.

Compatibility
CORONATE 2384 has excellent compatibility with other CORONATE, NIPPON series products, polyester, acrylic resin, alkyd resin and fluoride. However, please conduct a compatibility test before mixing.

Application
The two-component coating composed of CORONATE 2384 and acrylic polyol has excellent weather resistance and abrasion resistance, and is used in automotive repair coatings, industrial coatings, etc.
Two-component coatings composed of CORONATE 2384 and alkyd polyols are used in industrial and woodworking coatings, etc.
When CORONATE 2384 is added to coatings containing nitrocellulose, alkyd resins or polyethylene resins, it can significantly improve the physical properties of the coatings, such as solvent resistance. However, very careful compatibility testing must be done with each mix.

Precautions for use
·Storage conditions
  Since CORONATE 2384 is an active isocyanate compound, it is very easy to react with OH groups. Storage must be kept away from moisture and stored in airtight containers. For long-term storage, please keep it in a temperature environment of 15~25°C.
· When using and repackaging
Isocyanate is a very active substance. When reacting with water, not only insoluble substances, such as urea groups, but also CO₂ gas will be generated. When isocyanate is placed in a container mixed with water and stored in an airtight manner, the internal pressure of the container will increase due to the generation of gas, which may cause the container to rupture. When a small amount is taken from a container many times, it will deteriorate due to the action of moisture in the air. Therefore, before resealing after opening, it must be fully replaced with dry air, and great care must be taken to prevent moisture from entering.
· Dilution
When diluting CORONATE 2384 with a solvent, not only attention should be paid to the water content in the solvent, but also attention should be paid to prevent water from mixing during the dilution operation. Please perform dilution in a dry room.
