Solubility/Dilution
Bayhydrol® UV VP LS 2317 can be diluted with water.
Compatibility
This product can only be used in formula systems with a pH value above 6.7 middle. Triethylamine is recommended for pH adjustment. Bayhydrol UV VP LS 2317 has good compatibility with many dispersions, including UV curable products. Compatibility should be retested after adjustment to pH > 6.7. This product has limited compatibility with allyl polyester emulsions. Adding a solvent as an additive does not cause adverse effects.
Application
Bayhydrol® UV VP LS 2317 for the preparation of waterborne UV-curing coatings , especially suitable for use on wooden wood. Typically, sanding can be done after physical drying prior to UV curing. A good initial curing effect can be obtained by adding a photoinitiator with a content of 1-2.5%wt (calculated on a solid basis). Polyurethane thickeners can be added to adjust formulation viscosity. If defoamer is added, it must be diluted with solvent before use, especially in flow coating applications. Matting agents and additives can be directly put into the product and dispersed with a disperser. Ordinary matting agents can easily matt Bayhydrol UV VP LS 2317. Usually, water-based pigment paste is used in colored systems. After the water is completely evaporated, the paint can be cured with a lamp of 80W/cm at a transmission speed of 10m/min. For curing colored systems, special photoinitiators and gallium lamps are used. In order to ensure the best curing effect, it should be fully pre-dried, and the paint film should not contain moisture. The physical drying and sandability of the paint film after water evaporation depends mainly on the formulation. However, it does not have chemical and mechanical resistance. UV curing does result in a paint film with very good mechanical properties and chemical resistance. Another characteristic of Bayhydrol UV VP LS 2317 is its good adhesion to many metal substratesFocus on it. With the addition of Bayhydur® products, waterborne dual-cure systems can be obtained.
