The uses and limitations of early strengthening agents

Early strength agent is used in steam-cured concrete and various concretes with early strength requirements constructed under normal mixing, low temperature and negative temperature conditions.
Most early strength agents other than organic amines can also be used for steam-cured precast concrete components, but the dosage is generally smaller than that without steam curing, so attention should be paid when using them.

Non-chlorine salt early strength agent can be used for reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete.

Because some early-strength agents may cause corrosion hazards to steel bars, and some are toxic to the human body, attention must be paid to the restrictions in use.

1. It is not advisable to use early-strengthening agents and early-strengthening water-reducing agents in hot environmental conditions.

2. Chemical substances that are harmful to the human body or pollute the environment after being mixed into concrete are strictly prohibited from being used as early strength agents.

3. The following structures are strictly prohibited from using early-strength admixtures and early-strength water-reducing agents prepared with chlorine salts: prestressed concrete structures, structures used in environments with relative humidity greater than 80%, large-volume concrete, direct contact with acids, Structures with alkali or other corrosive media, structures often at a temperature of 60°C, concrete with decorative requirements, thin-walled concrete structures, structures using cold-drawn steel bars or cold-drawn low-carbon steel wires, concrete structures with alkali-active aggregates

4. It is strictly prohibited to use early strengthening agents and early strengthening water reducing agents containing strong electrolyte inorganic salts in the following concrete structures: structures in contact with galvanized steel or aluminum iron, and exposed steel bars and embedded iron parts Structures without protective measures, structures using DC power supply, and structures within 100m of high-voltage DC power supply.
