Recently, PPG (NYSE: PPG) “Colorful Community” event was successfully held in Lianyang Community, Songjiang District, Shanghai. More than 50 employee volunteers from PPG’s automotive refinishing paints, architectural coatings and Shanghai Songjiang factory, as well as volunteers from the Lianyang community, participated in this “Colorful Community” event, contributing more than 150 hours of volunteer service time to Lianyang. The “Colorful Communities” project aims to bring color and vitality to the communities where PPG operates globally through employee volunteer services, paint donations and charitable donations. The event was held in Songjiang District, Shanghai, where PPG’s Shanghai factory is located.
Lianyang Community is affiliated to Songjiang Economic Development Zone and is a large-scale “work-to-residence” community integrating apartments and shops. The community has 103 buildings and brings together nearly 10,000 residents, many of whom are industrial workers from nearby industrial parks.
