Leveraging Microstructure’s expertise in synthetic biology and Hengxin Life’s global leadership in biodegradable products, the collaboration aims to maximize the potential of PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate).

Microstructure Factory, a research team originating from China’s top university Tsinghua University, has established a team of experts dedicated to bioengineering PHA to create tableware that is resistant to high temperatures, has strong barrier properties, and allows customization of color, transparency, and shape.

The recently released PHA straws can withstand temperatures above 90°C, meeting the unique need for sustainable hot beverage solutions. In an ecologically sustainable world, PHA has proven itself to be a meaningful and viable green option with its bio-based properties.
