Evonik and LEHVOSS establish strategic partnership for industrial 3D printing

• LEHVOSS will develop new LUVOSINT® formulations based on Evonik’s PA613 polymer chemistry

• Expansion of the LEHVOSS product portfolio with INFINAM® PA 6005 P

• Provide new material solutions and application technical support for automotive applications

Evonik and LEHVOSS Group are forming a strategic partnership in the field of industrial 3D printing. At the heart of the collaboration are two key initiatives: Based on Evonik’s PA613 polymer chemistry, LEHVOSS will develop its own 3D printing formulations under its LUVOSINT® product brand. LEHVOSS will release Evonik’s polymer powder INFINAM® PA from September 1, 2023
6005 P (PA613) into its own product portfolio. Through this strategic partnership, both industry partners are working to pave the way for new applications in the automotive industry.

First-Class Materials Expert

Sylvia, head of Evonik’s industrial 3D printing business
Monsheimer said: “The collaboration with LEHVOSS is very special for us as it is the first time in our thirty-year history that we have entered into a partnership with another material manufacturer. LEHVOSS’s team of experts is well-positioned to produce materials that enable A special recipe for new 3D applications.”

INFINAM® PA 6005 P is Evonik’s polyamide 613-based polymer powder designed for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
Designed with 3D printing technology. The polymer is produced using Evonik’s own special precipitation process at the Chemical Park in Marl, Germany, and is suitable for 3D applications in higher temperature ranges. Compared to other difficult-to-process materials of the polyamide 6 family, INFINAM®
PA 6005 P has an extremely low water absorption rate (less than 3%), which has a positive impact on the processability during 3D printing and the dimensional stability of the printed parts.

New3Dprinting formula based onPA613

LEHVOSS has developed a carbon fiber-reinforced powder for laser sintering made from Evonik’s PA613 base polymer. This product is LUVOSINT®PA613 9711
Sold under the CF brand, it features special carbon fibers compounded into individual polymer particles. Carbon fiber bonded in this way complies with applicable occupational safety regulations. In addition, by incorporating Evonik’s unreinforced INFINAM® PA 6005
Incorporating into its own product distribution portfolio, LEHVOSS now offers customers these two outstanding formulas, all from one supplier.

Stefan, leader of LEHVOSS 3D printing team
“Working with Evonik and using its outstanding base polymers makes it easier to develop customized products for customers’ technical applications,” said Dr. Schulze.

With the LUVOSINT® and LUVOCOM® 3F product lines, the LEHVOSS Group offers innovative and customized plastics for 3D printing. These products are suitable for the most common manufacturing processes such as powder bed fusion, fused fiber fabrication (FFF) and fused pellet fabrication (FGF). These products offer good processing properties and excellent material properties.

Evonik is focusing its expertise in 3D printing into the innovative growth area of additive manufacturing. Their strategic focus is on the development and production of new high-performance materials for all major polymer-based 3D printing technologies. Against this background, Evonik launches a product range of multifunctional, ready-to-use materials under the INFINAM® brand.
