Zalando launches ZIGN Studio – a high-end collection that adopts a studio approach and uses the latest material innovations.

On September 14, Zalando, the leading e-commerce platform for fashion and lifestyle, launched the ZIGN Studio series of its own brand ZIGN. ZIGN
Studio is a high-end collection that takes a studio approach to fashion design, with streamlined capsule collections centered around a cohesive creative vision. ZIGN
Featuring 41 women’s and 39 men’s styles across textiles, footwear and accessories, the Studio collection focuses on high quality and the latest material innovations, while also incorporating circular design. Each style is carefully crafted using the latest innovative materials and design details, modern tailoring and modular design elements for added versatility.
Zalando’s private label design team features ZIGN
The Studio series is an opportunity to rethink how they design from the drawing board to the final product, covering the entire product life cycle from sourcing materials, design thinking and manufacturing processes. ZIGN
The Studio collection incorporates some of the latest material innovations, including improved material manufacturing processes, bio-based raw materials, renewable raw materials and recycled materials. Innovative materials used to create the collection include fabrics by Naia
Fabrics made from renewable wood pulp such as Renew, bio-based artificial leather made from coffee grounds, recycled fishing net nylon, mushroom leather and other renewable and recyclable materials. It also uses recycled dyes and pigments.
The collection also incorporates modular design elements to bring more functionality to garments and expand their uses. Modular elements such as removable sleeves on the down jacket allow the style to be worn in multiple ways (in this case, both as a jacket and a vest). A large part of the collection is designed according to circular.fashion’s circular design criteria and follows a monomaterial approach, in which garments are at least 95% made from a single material. In this way, fashion products are designed to comply with biological or technological cycles, i.e. biodegrade or be recycled and regenerated into new resources.

The creative concept of Studio’s autumn and winter series revolves around the idea of ”nature”: the interaction between nature and technology. This concept is reflected in the design that combines innovative materials with soil textures and tones. The collection features sharp structures, digital renderings and textural elements inspired by geological formations.
The collection is now available to customers in all Zalando markets.
