Chromatic 3D Materials launches a new thermoset polyurethane 3D printing material

Chromatic 3D Materials has announced the launch of ChromaMotive D65, a thermoset polyurethane designed for reactive extrusion additive manufacturing via the company’s RX-AM platform. Chromatic 3D Materials says the new material performs well at -30°C Performs well over temperature range to 120°C.

The company says ChromaMotive D65 has "very good" low-temperature impact strength, making it an ideal material for winter sports equipment such as ski boots, snowshoes and snowmobile parts. Chromatic 3D Materials says it is also well suited for other applications with different temperature requirements, such as parts in the aerospace, automotive and agricultural industries.

The company says the new material offers the advantages of 3D printing and its mechanical properties are comparable to injection molded TPU, HDPE and PP. ChromaMotive D65 has excellent impact, hydrolysis and abrasion resistance.

Cora Leibig, founder and CEO of Chromatic 3D Materials, said: “With ChromaMotive With the D65, manufacturers producing rigid plastic parts can take advantage of the RX-AM’s fast print speeds and ability to print on textiles, plastics and metals. Hard parts can now be 3D printed on an industrial scale for everything from winter entertainment equipment to aircraft interiors. "
