AK sugar (acesulfame potassium) usage standards and dosage regulations in food additives

It is understood that: AK sugar (acesulfame potassium) is a white, crystalline powder, odorless, with a strong sweet taste, soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol. Widely used in food, medicine, cosmetics and other industries. In food, it is used in almost all sweet products such as beverages, candies, pastries, ice cream, jams, puddings, baked goods, table sweet buns, and dairy products.

The standards and regulations for the use of AK sugar (acesulfame potassium) as food additives in China:

China’s “National Food Safety Standards for the Use of Food Additives” ( GB 2760-2014) stipulates that acesulfame potassium can be used in ready-to-eat flavored foods or their pre-made products with milk as the main ingredient (excluding ice cream and flavored fermented milk) (limited to canned milk-based desserts), frozen drinks (except edible ice) ), canned fruits, jams, preserves, pickled vegetables, processed edible fungi and algae, canned grains, black sesame paste, canned cereal desserts, baked goods, beverages (except packaged drinking water), jelly, table sweeteners, Condiments, soy sauce, candies, gum-based candies, etc., but are not allowed to be used in herbal products.

Our country has also formulated corresponding quality specification requirements for acesulfame potassium, “National Food Safety Standard Food Additive Acesulfame Potassium” (GB 25540-2010).

In addition, in accordance with the provisions of the “General Principles for Labeling of Prepackaged Foods in National Food Safety Standards” (GB 7718), as long as acesulfame potassium is used in food (including the use of compound sweeteners containing acesulfame potassium) ) must be marked on food labels.

The regulations on the varieties, scope of use, and maximum usage or residue of acesulfame K in my country are as follows:
