Similarly, at low temperatures, the asphalt will become brittle and hard, resulting in reduced low-temperature cracking resistance of the pavement and the occurrence of cracks. In addition, wax will cause the adhesion between asphalt and stone. The adhesion is reduced, and in the presence of water, pavement stones will peel off, causing pavement damage. What’s more serious is that waxy asphalt will reduce the skid resistance of the asphalt pavement, affecting the driving safety of the road.
The wax content of asphalt is the wax content that crystallizes and precipitates in a specified solvent and low temperature after the oil is distilled by distillation.
