dissolve Sexuality/Dilution
Bayhydur® BL 5140 is compatible with water, alcohols, glycols and glycol ethers Make a dilution. However the storage stability of the solution has to be tested.
Phase Capacitance
Crosslinking reaction with equivalent polyols, Bayhydur® BL 5140 can be combined with Bayhydrol® Compatible with D 155, D 270 and FT 145. Mixtures must be tested for compatibility prior to preparation.
Features /application
Bayhydur® BL 5140 is formulated as a water dilutable lightfast one-component polyurethane The baking system is developed with a curing agent. Coating films based on Bayhydur® BL 5140 can achieve the effects of traditional two-component polyurethane coatings by adjusting the degree of crosslinking and selecting polyols. Its fields of application include automotive OEM coatings (impact primers, surfacers, topcoats) and high-quality industrial baking finishes such as coatings for electrical equipment, small components and automotive components. Bayhydur® BL 5140 can also be used in the preparation of fancy can coatings. Bayhydrol® D 155 is recommended as co-reactant to formulate coatings with high flexibility and hardness and excellent resistance to biocidal treatments. By selecting suitable co-reactive components, it is possible to achieve a weatherability matching that of the solvent-borne baking polyurethanes Desmodur® BL 3175 or 4265.
baked Baking Conditions
The following table shows Bayhydur® BL 5140 and water dilutable polyacrylate Necessary baking conditions for full crosslinking. Depending on bake temperature/time and the hydroxy polyol used, slight to severe thermal yellowing may occur.
Save
Store in the original sealed container at a temperature of 5 to 23°C When used, Bayhydur® BL 5140 has a shelf life of at least 3 months. Viscosity increases gradually during storage. However, the original value can be restored after dilution and the product quality will not be affected.
Bayhydur® BL 5140 freezes below 0°C and may damage product quality. Therefore, avoid freezing during storage.
Security
