Product features and advantages: DISPERBYK-171 stabilizes the pigment through steric hindrance Deflocculation. Due to the small particle size of the deflocculated pigments, the color strength can be improved. In addition, the pigment content can be increased due to the reduced viscosity. DISPERBYK-171 prevents color flooding even when used in complex pigment/colorant combinations or in difficult-to-adjust colours.
Recommended Purpose
Specially recommended for the manufacture of pigment concentrates used in gel coats; also recommended Stabilizes pigments in gel coats.
Suggestions Dosage
Auxiliary dosage (purchase form) based on pigment:
Inorganic pigment | 10-18% |
titanium dioxide | 4-6% |
Organic Pigments | 35-60% |
Carbon black | 70-120% |
The above recommended dosage is for reference, the optimal dosage needs to be determined through a series of experiments .
Join Methods and processing instructions
For best performance, DISPERBYK-171 should be added slowly to the in the resin. Pigments should only be added after the additive has been dispersed homogeneously. The dispersion process can then begin, and finally more resin can be added if necessary.
