BYK-SILCLEAN 3720 can increase the hydrophobicity and Oleophobic. In addition, the additive can also reduce the dustiness of the paint film and improve the ease of cleaning of the paint film. The additive improves substrate wetting, leveling, surface slip, water resistance (anti-blush), anti-blocking and weathering properties of coatings. We therefore recommend that no other surface additives be added when evaluating BYK-SILCLEAN 3720. If other leveling additives are required, they should be added during the second test phase. BYK-SILCLEAN 3720 can also be used to improve the anti-graffiti and tape release properties of coating films.
Recommended Purpose
BYK-SILCLEAN 3720 is hydroxyl functional and recommended for waterborne topcoats. Can be crosslinked with the following resin systems: 2K polyurethane, alkyd/melamine, polyester/melamine, acrylic/melamine and acrylic epoxy blends.
Recommended Dosage
2-6% additive dosage (as supplied) based on total formulation.

This additive is recommended to be added in the final stage of production, the mixing process needs to ensure enough shear rate.

If the additive is used in a cross-linkable resin system, then in heavy Sanding needs to be done evenly and thoroughly to ensure adequate intercoat adhesion.
