Product characteristics and advantages: This additive slightly reduces the surface tension of the coating system. BYK-322 is a silicone leveling additive which does not stabilize foam and has a defoaming effect in many systems. Thermally stable up to 250 °C without compromising intercoat adhesion.
Recommended Purpose
This additive is especially recommended for various solvent-based coatings.
Suggestions Dosage
0.01-0.4% additive dosage (as purchased) based on the total formulation.
The above recommended dosage is for reference, the optimal dosage needs to be determined through a series of experiments .
Join Methods and processing instructions
The additive can be added at any stage of the production process, including post-addition.
special Note
Compared with silicone oil, this additive is easier to use. But before use, a series of experiments should be conducted to confirm whether the additive can stabilize the foam in some systems. Additionally, recoatability and cratering should be checked.
