Apply Domain
( 1) Paint industry
a. Product features and advantages
BYK-019 is especially suitable for polyurethane dispersion and polyurethane/acrylate composite dispersion Waterborne paint systems and pigment concentrates. To reduce microfoam, it is recommended to mix BYK-019 and BYK-024 at a ratio of 3:2.
b. Recommended dosage
0.1-1 % additive dosage (as purchased) based on the total formulation.
c. Adding method and processing guidance
Due to the high incompatibility of additives, the defoamer must be used at high Add under shear to ensure good dispersion. Otherwise, system defects may be caused.
( 2) Printing ink and varnish
a. Product features and advantages
BYK-019 is especially suitable for acrylate-based dispersions, polyurethane dispersions and polyurethane/acrylate composite dispersions Water-based overprint varnishes and defoaming of pigment concentrates. To reduce microfoam, a 3:2 combination of BYK-019 and BYK-024 has proven to be very effective in pigment concentrates.
b. Recommended use
This additive is especially suitable for water-based systems and UV systems.
c. Recommended dosage
0.1-1 % additive dosage (as purchased) based on the total formulation.
d. Adding method and processing guidance
Due to the high incompatibility of additives, the defoamer must be used at high Add under shear to ensure good dispersion. Otherwise, it may cause system defects.
