Nanjing University of Technology’s “A vegetable oil polyol and its preparation method and application” won the Nanjing Patent Gold Award

Recently, the Nanjing Intellectual Property Office announced the "Decision on Recognizing the Nanjing Patent Award in 2023" (Ningzhi [2023] No. 27). This time, a total of 5 Nanjing Patent Gold Awards, 5 Silver Awards and 10 awards and 20 excellence awards. Nanjing University of Technology "A vegetable oil polyol and its preparation method and application" (ZL201510767650.3, inventors Guo Kai, Ji Dong, Fang Zheng, Zhu Ning, Ouyang Pingkai, etc.) won the Nanjing Patent Award Gold Award. Nanjing University of Technology is the only university to win the Nanjing Patent Gold Award.

This patent creatively proposes that based on microfluidic field reaction technology, through micro-scale effects, process mass transfer, heat transfer and reaction speed can be improved by orders of magnitude, precise control of the reaction process and significant improvement in safety, breaking through many problems in the vegetable oil derivatization process. In order to overcome technical difficulties, we have developed a series of new vegetable oil polyol products that can be used to prepare bio-based polyurethane. This patented and derived technology has been industrialized in Zhangjiagang Feihang Technology Co., Ltd., and has implemented anti-corrosion coatings in China State Construction Engineering Corporation, structural adhesives for construction in Sankeshu, biological bedding products in Gulus, and Tieke The institute realizes applications in many fields such as tunnel thermal insulation. It has realized the high-value utilization of vegetable oil, extended the biomass raw material industry chain, promoted the green upgrading and transformation of the polyurethane industry, and also provided theoretical guidance and technical support for the development of microchemical technology and green manufacturing.
