Test run is underway and production is expected to begin in early November. This marks the completion of Sinochem International’s Lianyungang epoxy resin industry chain integrated device.
In addition, the project's second bisphenol A unit with an annual output of 240,000 tons was put into operation in September and produced products at one time. Adding the production capacity of the first unit, the company's total bisphenol A production capacity is expected to reach 480,000 tons/year.
Epoxy resin is one of the core advantageous industrial chains that Sinochem International focuses on. The company currently has a total of 350,000 tons/year epoxy resin production capacity in Yangzhou and Lianyungang, ranking first in China in terms of scale.

According to reports, Sinochem International Lianyungang's entire epoxy resin industry chain includes "PDH--propylene--phenol acetone & bisphenol A/epoxy chloropropane--epoxy resin" integrated devices. Since 2022, the project's main devices such as phenol acetone, bisphenol A, epichlorohydrin, and epoxy resin have been completed and put into production. After the PDH plant was successfully put into operation, the integrated plant of the entire epoxy resin industry chain was put into operation.
This is the world's most complete and competitive "propylene-epoxy resin" industry chain laid out by Sinochem International. With PDH as the source, it has an upstream annual output of 480,000 tons of bisphenol A and an annual output of 15% using green processes. Thousands of tons of epichlorohydrin and other important raw materials, enhancing the control capabilities of key intermediates, creating an integrated industrial chain, and adding existing production capacity and technological advantages will further enhance the company's comprehensive competitiveness in the field of epoxy resin.
In addition to focusing on the layout of the "propylene-epoxy resin" industrial chain, Sinochem International's Carbon Phase III project also coordinates the layout of "propylene-propylene oxide", "propylene-phenol ketone-bisphenol A" and other industries.
In the first half of 2023, China's domestic bisphenol A market trend was relatively weak. However, after entering the third quarter, the early destocking has come to an end, and downstream replenishment is in urgent need, which has a positive impact on the market. The bisphenol A market has ushered in a wave of continuous increases, and the market price has also risen to the highest level this year. Although the market fluctuated slightly in the fourth quarter, its room for decline was limited due to limitations on the average contract price and cost line.
Currently, Sinochem International's two bisphenol A plants in Lianyungang are in a ramp-up state of production capacity debugging, with a total production capacity of 480,000 tons. The propylene oxide unit with an annual output of 400,000 tons of Sinochem International's Carbon III Project is expected to be put into operation on November 8, and is expected to produce qualified products after debugging.
