Product Introduction
This product is an adduct of VESTANAT IPDI, used as a cross-linking agent for hydroxyl-containing saturated polyesters in weather-resistant polyurethane powder coatings. Caprolactam ensures blocking of NCO groups below about 170ºC. This product is supplied in granular form.

Recipe
Equivalent application of crosslinker and polyester. In fact, when the performance requirements of the coating are different, it can be used under the condition of insufficient curing (NCO:OH=1:1), which is more economical.

Polyester (hydroxyl value = 35)                                                                                               In addition to pigmented powder coatings using more than 1% by weight of benzoin, clear powder coatings can be used as a protective layer for substrates and other paint systems.

Curing
The curing temperature of polyurethane powder coatings must generally be higher than the temperature at which blocking is eliminated (approximately 170ºC). Upon curing, part of the sealer is released from the coating as a gas. A prerequisite for good process paintability is that the crosslinking should be carried out in an appropriate range (175-200ºC, 8-30 minutes).

Process coating performance
Both of the two blocked adducts of ε-caprolactam can endow high-gloss coatings with excellent mechanical properties. Multifunctional VESTAGON B 1530 is better than bifunctional VESTAGON B 1065 in terms of some special properties, weather stability and chemical properties.
