Solubility/Dilution Sex
Generally, Desmodur® E23 is compatible with ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate, xylene, Shellsol® A and Solvesso® 100. However, the storage stability of its diluted solution must be tested. Long-term storage of solutions with low solid content may cause turbidity and precipitation. Urethane grade solvents should be used (less than 0.05% water) and should not contain reactive groups.
Compatibility
In general, Desmodur® E23 is compatible with Desmophen®/Baycoll® polyols as well as other Desmodur® products and tougheners.
Application
Desmodur® E23 is suitable for the preparation of moisture-curing one-component coatings. It can be used as a primer and sealer for porous substrates after dilution with suitable diluents to protect the substrates from Moisture, oil, gasoline, and other chemicals attack. This product can also be used as a resin for preparing synthetic resin mortar. The anti-corrosion coating based on Desmodur® E23 has excellent performance and is widely used in steel structure materials of civil buildings and water conservancy projects. When mixed with suitable Desmophen® polyols, this product produces tough and abrasion resistant coatings and sealers. Desmodur® E21 is also suitable for the preparation of solvent-free moisture-curing one-component adhesives or in combination with Baycoll® for two-component adhesives. These two adhesives can be used to bond a variety of materials such as wood, metal and plastic.
Save
This product is sensitive to moisture and should be stored in the original airtight container. High temperature storage will result in increased viscosity and decreased NCO content. When stored under proper conditions, this product has a shelf life of at least 6 months.
