Operational Security
TODI is a milky white or light yellow granular solid with a vapor pressure lower than 10-4 mbar at room temperature. The Federal Republic of Germany stipulates that the TODI content in the working environment should be less than 0.01 ppm (0.087 mg/m3), even if it exceeds the standard for a short time. Due to its special reactivity, TODI is considered a hazardous substance and must be handled with care.
Potential hazards of TODI are dust, vapor and fumes formed during use.
Operators may be exposed to TODI in the following situations:
a: Dust floating out during weighing or feeding;
b: Steam or smoke generated by excess TODI when preparing TODI prepolymer or pouring (smoke is generated when hot TODI steam condenses).
Storage
Note: TODI is sensitive to moisture. Because all diisocyanates can react with water to form insoluble urea derivatives. It should be stored airtight in a cool and dry condition. Do not store together with food, avoid exposure to 30°C, and seal it immediately after use to avoid failure. Under suitable external conditions, the product is valid for 6 months.
Packaging
Standard container: iron drum lined with polyethylene bag, net weight 50kg/drum. It can be divided into 20kg/drum according to customer needs.
