Properties
VESTAMIN TMD is a low viscosity liquid, at ambient temperature It can be mixed with water in any proportion. It is a strong base with a pH of 11.6 in a 0.1 N solution. VESTAMIN TMD is soluble in many polar organic solvents including esters and alcohols. VESTAMIN TMD will undergo typical chemical reactions of fatty amines, that is, react with phosgene, aldehydes, epoxy resins, organic acids, ketones, etc. There was no significant difference in the reactivity of the isomers.
Applications
VESTAMIN TMD exhibits properties similar to hexamethylenediamine, but Its unique properties allow it to be used in many special applications. Typical areas of application include the production of hardeners for epoxy resin systems and the synthesis of polyamides and polyurethanes. It is also needed at the beginning of the synthesis of anti-corrosion agents, emulsifiers, vulcanization accelerators, biocides, printing and dyeing auxiliaries, flotation media, lubricating oil additives, etc.
Epoxy curing agent
Compared with other short-chain aliphatic diamines, VESTAMIN TMD The pot life is longer, and will not prolong the final curing time. Products cured with VESTAMIN TMD have a transparent appearance, no yellowing, good flexibility and chemical resistance. It can be used with all types of epoxy resins such as electrical resins, solvent-free and solvent-borne varnish coatings.
