The relative density is 0.8439 (80°C), the melting point is 58°C, the boiling point is 250.5°C (13.3kPa), the refractive index is 1.4273 (70°C), and the acid value is 245.68. Insoluble in water, soluble in absolute ethanol, methanol, ether, petroleum ether, benzene and chloroform. Exist in nutmeg oil (content 70%-80%), palm oil (content 1%-3%), coconut oil (content 17%-20%) and other vegetable oils in the form of glyceride.
[Application] Used in the manufacture of myristate and myristate, PVC heat stabilizer and plasticizer. It can also be used as a solvent for metal processing and spices, a lubricant, a pigment dispersant, and an additive for printing inks. It is often used as a raw material for the production of various types of surfactants, such as the manufacture of sorbitan fatty acid esters, glycerin fatty acid esters, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol fatty acid esters, etc. It can also be used to prepare spices, cosmetics, etc.
[Brief recipe]
①It is made from coconut oil or other animal and vegetable oils through saponification and neutralization;
②It is prepared by reverse conversion of triglyceride (myristate) in the presence of sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid;
③It is prepared by oxidative dehydrogenation of tetraalkanol.
