Lysine production continues to grow and my country’s export scale continues to expand
Lysine, also known as 2,6-diaminohexanoic acid, is a basic amino acid. Lysine appears as small off-white or light brown particles or powder. It is easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, but insoluble in ether. According to different optical activities, lysine can be divided into three types: D-type dextro-lysine, L-type L-lysine and DL-type racemic lysine. As one of the essential amino acids in humans and mammals, lysine can improve the body’s immunity, promote growth and development, and prevent osteoporosis.
Corn is the main raw material of lysine. Affected by factors such as rising global food prices, my country’s corn sown area has increased significantly, and output has shown a rapid growth trend. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, my country’s corn output will reach 272.55 million tons in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. Benefiting from the sufficient supply of raw materials, my country’s lysine production continues to increase. According to the “2022 Global and Chinese Lysine Industry In-Depth Research Report released by the Industrial Research Center, my country’s lysine production in 2021 Acid production reached 1.825 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.
Lysine has a wide range of applications, including food fortifiers, auxiliary drug treatment, feed, chemical industry, etc. The feed field is the largest demander of lysine, accounting for 88.7% of the total demand. Lysine can reduce feed protein levels and convert protein into muscle protein to improve the lean meat rate and slaughter rate of livestock and poultry. In addition, lysine can also promote animal growth and development and effectively reduce breeding costs. In recent years, my country’s feed production has continued to increase. According to statistics from the China Feed Industry Association, my country’s feed production will reach 293.443 million tons in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%. Market demand will drive the continuous expansion of my country’s lysine market.
In terms of import and export, my country is a major producer and exporter of lysine. Strong overseas market demand has driven the continuous expansion of my country’s lysine export scale. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, my country’s lysine exports in 2021 will reach 826,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%; my country’s lysine imports in 2021 will only reach 0.01 million tons. Germany, the Netherlands, Thailand, Denmark, Canada and the United States are my country’s main exporters of lysine.
In terms of market competition, my country’s lysine industry is highly concentrated, with leading companies occupying a dominant position in the market. Heilongjiang Chengfu, Shanghai Oriental Hope, Shandong Shouguang Juneng Golden Corn, Shandong Zhengda Linghua, etc. are enterprises with a relatively high proportion of lysine production capacity in my country.
Industry analysts said that with the rapid economic development and the continuous improvement of national living standards, consumers’ awareness of health care continues to increase. As an essential amino acid for the human body, lysine has a wide range of product applications. my country is the world’s largest producer and exporter of lysine, accounting for nearly 70% of the world’s production capacity. Driven by market demand, my country’s lysine industry has entered a stage of rapid development. As the production capacity of leading enterprises continues to expand, the concentration of my country’s lysine industry will further increase.
