Polyurethane site joint coating supplier Company Services Swiss SA (CSS) and Italian underwater engineering specialist Drafinsub have initiated merger proceedings.
Their aim is to establish a center that provides/performs comprehensive services regarding offshore infrastructure and subsea pipelines, ranging from pre-installation inspections to installation and maintenance as well as testing and commissioning.
The new holding company CSS Drafinsub Holding is headquartered in Chiasso, Switzerland, with operating bases in Genoa, Castelnuovo Boca Dada and Sicily, the Malaysian state of Johor, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and Mexico City.

Valentini will serve as chairman and Drafinsub CEO Gianluca Passeri will serve as managing director.

Dermott, NPCC, L&T, Leighton and Subsea7. Over the past year, it has completed pipeline inspections, installed protection devices for Prysmian cables,
Construction of the Capo Cassiopea extension of Enimed Sicilia (Saipem/Eni) and trenching to protect connections up to a depth of 660 metres.
Its subsea services include trenching, survey monitoring, deep and shallow water diving for construction and repair work, and the use of remotely operated vehicles, all supported by multi-purpose vessels working in conjunction with Go Offshore.
Drafinsub has carried out deepwater operations in Lake Garda in northern Italy to ensure the safety of underwater pipelines.
