In 2020, the Ministry of Commerce of my country announced its decision to launch an anti-dumping investigation into polyphenylene ether (PPE, PPO) originating in the United States from now on, which will be conducive to the development of my country’s MPPO in the direction of high performance, multiple brands, and serialization.
Industry analysts said that MPPO has excellent performance. As one of the engineering plastics, it has a wide range of applications and market demand has continued to rise in recent years. , the industry has developed rapidly. In terms of production, the output of polyphenylene ether raw powder is limited, which restricts the development of the MPPO industry. Currently, global MPPO production capacity is relatively concentrated, mainly distributed in the United States. As domestic enterprises break through the production technology of polyphenylene ether raw powder, my country’s MPPO production continues to rise. However, due to the small number of grades and relatively poor quality, market demand still relies on imports. It is expected that with the support of anti-dumping policies, my country’s MPPO industry will accelerate the realization of domestic substitution.
