Recently, during the Sixth China International Import Expo, Covestro and Changtian Technology signed a strategic cooperation memorandum on “Future Automotive Vision”. The two parties will focus on the in-depth application of polycarbonate special films in the field of automotive displays and jointly develop innovative products and technology, jointly promote it to meet the rapidly changing needs in human-vehicle interaction.
With the continuous development of automobile integration, intelligence, electrification and informatization, display screens have increasingly become an important medium for human-vehicle interaction. Manufacturers not only need to ensure the reliability of in-vehicle screens, but also need to increase the freedom of screen size design to meet the progress requirements of rapid iteration of new energy vehicles. Faced with this pain point, Covestro joined hands with Changtian Technology, an industry-leading backlight module manufacturer, to actively seek answers.
Since this year, the two parties have launched Makofol® for the application of polycarbonate films in the field of automotive display modules.
LM807 automotive polycarbonate light guide plate material solution. The film uses optical grade raw materials and achieves excellent optical properties, physical properties and stable quality through a high-precision extrusion process. Thanks to these advantages, the application of polycarbonate film in light guide plates can help the screen achieve ultra-large size and ultra-thin thickness, meeting the trend of large-screen electric vehicle screens, thereby greatly improving consumers’ intelligence and entertainment experience. Covestro has obtained 20 tons of Makrofol® from Changtian Technology
Start order for LM807.
Further cooperation
This strategic signing will further deepen the cooperation between the two parties in the fields of vehicle-mounted display and high-end industrial control display, aiming to provide screen module manufacturers with solutions with high performance, high design freedom, and high production efficiency.
