Mo Dingge, representative of Sinopec Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Company and Secretary of the Party Committee, briefly introduced the overview of the Zhenhai base to the BASF delegation.

It is an important partner of Sinopec in foreign cooperation. Dr. Marco Altmayer said: “ We are very pleased to be able to license BASF’s proprietary oxo synthesis technology to produce isononanol to Sinopec Zhenhai Refining. Relying on Zhenhai Refining and Chemical, we are building and operating a large-scale integrated refining and chemical industry. With professional knowledge and experience in the field, the newly built isononanol unit will help expand the variety of chemical products at the Zhenhai base and further enhance the economic benefits and overall competitiveness of the Zhenhai base.”
What is isononyl alcohol
Isononyl alcohol is a key raw material for a new generation of environmentally friendly plasticizers. It is mainly used to produce plasticizers (DINP) used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products. DINP has excellent heat resistance, light resistance, aging resistance and electrical insulation. It is widely used in toy film, automobiles, wires, cables, floors, construction and other fields. It is an important raw material for the “new infrastructure” industrial chain.
During the exchange, BASF and his delegation conducted research in the company’s exhibition hall and the central control room of the Zhenhai base. Zhenhai Refining and Chemicals and BASF discussed cooperation in more fields. Heads of relevant units and departments of both parties participated in the research and exchange.
