On August 29, the environmental impact report of the new No. 2 EVA project of Zhongke (Guangdong) Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. was published before approval.

Construction site selection: In the reserved land at the southeast corner of the Zhanjiang Development Zone Zhongke (Guangdong) Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. factory, there is an existing 1#100,000 tons/year EVA
On the south and west sides of the installation, the latitude and longitude coordinates of the center of the proposed main installation area are: N21.041230, E
110.463832, the land use is Category III industrial land; the south side of the project land is reserved for development, the east side is a three-dimensional warehouse, and the built EVA and HDPE
The device area, the ethylene device area to the north, and the first circulating water field of the chemical industry zone to the west;
Construction unit: Zhongke (Guangdong) Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd.;
Construction investment: total investment is 1,938.53 million yuan, of which environmental protection investment is 43.6 million yuan; accounting for 2.25% of the total investment;
Land area: 45,000m2 (approximately 67.5 acres);
Construction content: Build a new set of 100,000 tons/year EVA device, including main production devices, supporting construction of circulating water field, storage, water supply and drainage, fire protection, electrical equipment and other auxiliary public facilities.
Labor capacity and work shift system: 43 new employees; annual production capacity of 334 days, annual working hours of 8,000 hours, three shifts.
Construction period: 24 months.
Product plans and production scale
The main product of this project is EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) with different VA contents. There are 12 product brands in total, all of which are sold as commercial products. The product plan and scale of this project are shown in the table below.
Raw and auxiliary materials
The main raw materials of this project, ethylene and propylene, are directly transported by pipelines from the ethylene unit of Zhongke (Guangdong) Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd., and vinyl acetate is provided by Sinopec’s unified layout. The consumption of main raw and auxiliary materials is shown in the table below.
It is reported that the EVA products produced in this project adopt the autoclave polymerization technology of Lyondellbasell Company.
As early as March 3, Zhongke Refining and Chemical’s first 100,000 tons/year EVA unit was put into operation. The unit introduced the advanced technology of the kettle polymerization process of LyondellBasell of Germany and can produce ethylene-vinyl acetate polymerization products and high-pressure Low-density polyethylene homopolymer products fill the gap in Sinopec’s EVA production in the South China market.
After the newly launched No. 2 100,000-ton EVA device is put into operation, the company’s EVA production capacity will reach 200,000 tons/year.
