Recently, Sinopec Dalian Petrochemical Research Institute led the “development of spinnable asphalt and mesophase pitch-based carbon fiber complete technology”, “development of key technologies for bio-based monomers and materials” and participated in the “high-end polymer The major scientific and technological project of the group company “Key Technology Development and Industrial Demonstration of Amide Materials” was approved.
In recent years, Dalian Institute has been approved for a total of 16 “Ten Dragon” research projects and major scientific and technological projects of the group company. The “Spinnable Pitch and Mesophase Pitch-Based Carbon Fiber Complete Technology Development” project will help enrich and expand Sinopec’s carbon fiber industry chain. The project products can be used in many fields such as aerospace and people’s livelihood development. The “Key Technology Development of Bio-Based Monomers and Materials” project will address the current “stuck” problem in the development of bio-manufacturing industries at home and abroad, help speed up the implementation of industrialized technologies, and support the high-quality development of Sinopec’s bio-manufacturing field.
On September 6, the launch meeting of Sinopec’s major science and technology project “Key Technology Development of Bio-based Monomers and Materials” was held in Nanjing. The project is based on the global wave of bio-economy industry. It aims to break through the “stuck points” of the non-food bio-based materials industry and gradually realize the problems of insufficient supply of non-grain raw materials, urgent breakthroughs in key monomer industrialization technologies, and the need to improve the industrial support system. Demonstration of key biotechnology industrialization will provide technical support for Sinopec to become the leader of the national non-food bio-based materials industry chain.
In 2012, Dalian Petrochemical Research Institute was established in parallel with Fushun Petrochemical Research Institute, which was established in 1953. With two brands and a team of people, the main body moved to Dalian Lushun in 2017.
The main scientific research business areas include clean refining technology, public technology, emerging energy resource technology, new petrochemical material technology and new generation information technology. It has a number of national, provincial and ministerial level affiliated institutions such as the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center and the National Paraffin Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, as well as a postdoctoral workstation.
