Kuraray recently announced that its new factory in Map Ta Phut, Thailand has been completed and will soon be put into operation in stages.
The new plant in Thailand will strengthen the global supply system and meet the global demand for 3-methyl-1.5-pentanediol (MPD), SEPTON hydrogenated styrene block copolymer (HSBC) and GENESTAR heat-resistant polyamide-9T (PA9T) The increased demand contributed to the continued growth of the isoprene-related business, which was developed using Kuraray’s patented technology.
The design capacity of the new plant is 13,000 tons/year of PA9T, 16,000 tons/year of HSBC and 5,000 tons/year of MPD. Kuraray is investing about 40 billion yen ($310 million) in the project.
