[Alias] metasilicic acid
[Molecular formula]H2SiO3
[Properties] White amorphous powder or transparent shiny glassy solid. Relative density 2.1-2.3. Very weak acidity. Easily soluble in hydrofluoric acid, soluble in sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution, insoluble in water or other inorganic acids. Reacts violently with hydrofluoric acid and decomposes. It decomposes into silica when heated to 150°C. Silicic acid can be obtained by adding any weak acid to soluble silicates. Free single molecule of silicic acid. It is soluble in water, but it gradually associates in the solution to form bi-molecules and tri-molecules, and finally forms an insoluble multi-molecular polymer, which is a colloidal solution called 'silicic acid sol'. For example, the concentration of silicate solution is relatively large. Silicic acid jelly is directly formed after adding acid, and silicic acid gel is obtained after dehydration. It has a high water content, is soft, transparent, and elastic.

[Use] Used to manufacture catalysts, catalyst carriers, adsorbents silica gel, silicate and used as fluxes in tungsten wire processing and adsorbents for chromatographic separation. Also used for decolorizing grease, wax, etc.
[Brief preparation method] Silicic acid is prepared by soaking fine-pore spherical silica gel in hydrochloric acid for several hours, washing with deionized water, and drying.
[Safety and Protection] Packed in sealed and dry glass bottles, with a net weight of 500g per bottle. Store in a cool and dry place.
