Project Overview
The first phase of the Hebi Longyu New Materials Co., Ltd.’s annual production of 300,000 tons of polyformaldehyde project is jointly constructed by the Hebi Municipal People’s Government and Henan Energy and Chemical Industry Group. The total investment of the project is 2.5 billion yuan, covering an area of about 220 acres. After being put into operation, it can achieve annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan and tax revenue of more than 100 million yuan. This project can make full use of the advantages of local methanol raw materials and further extend the industrial chain, which is of great significance to the cultivation and expansion of Hebi City’s modern chemical and new material advantageous industrial clusters.

Project content: It mainly includes a 154,300 tons/year formaldehyde production line, a 3,860 tons/year dioxane production line, a 81,300 tons/year trimer production line, and a 60,000 tons/year polyformaldehyde production line. .

In February 2021, Henan Energy and Chemical Industry Group reached a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hebi Municipal People’s Government to build a polyformaldehyde project with an annual output of 300,000 tons in the Baoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Hebi City, and launch a polyoxymethylene project with an annual output of 60,000 tons in the first phase.
On April 6, 2021, the Hebi Longyu Phase I project with an annual output of 300,000 tons of polyformaldehyde, jointly invested by Henan Energy and Chemical Industry Group and Hebi City, started construction. In February 2022, it has entered the land leveling and finishing stage.
The project is located adjacent to the 600,000-ton-per-year methanol project unit of Henan Energy and Chemical Group Hebi Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. The main raw material, methanol, can be transported through pipelines, which can effectively reduce production costs. The project’s designed production capacity is the largest in the domestic industry. Once completed, Henan will become the largest polyformaldehyde production base in the country.
Polyformaldehyde is one of the five major engineering plastics in the world. It is known as “Durasteel” and “Super Steel”. It can be widely used to replace steel, copper, zinc, aluminum and other metal materials. It is mainly used in automobiles, electrical appliances, machinery manufacturing, and precision instruments. and other fields. In recent years, with the development of the economic situation, the total domestic consumption demand for polyformaldehyde has increased rapidly, and the external dependence is as high as 55.7%.
In this context, Henan Energy and Chemical Industry Group, following the 40,000-ton polyformaldehyde project of Kaifeng Longyu Chemical Co., Ltd., has benchmarked the relevant work requirements of “carbon neutrality and carbon peaking” and joined hands with Hebi to promote an annual output of 300,000 tons. tons of polyformaldehyde project, the production capacity has been expanded again to strengthen the industry’s voice and consolidate the industry’s leading advantage. It also shows that the self-sufficiency rate of “Made in China” polyacetal may be increased again. The first phase of the polyformaldehyde project with an annual output of 60,000 tons was launched in advance, with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan.
