On September 27, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) Center for the Polyurethane Industry (CPI) announced that Wanhua Chemical’s Wannate
9131FC won the 2023 Polyurethane Innovation Award. The Polyurethane Innovation Awards are highly regarded throughout the polyurethane industry and this annual honor recognizes innovative new commercial technologies within the polyurethane industry that will solve some of the challenges faced by the industry.

Chaffee accepted the 2023 Polyurethane Innovation Award on behalf of the company. In his opening speech, he told a story that highlighted the benefits of molded wood pallets. Many years ago, he said, he worked in a produce store. As a newbie, he moved a 50-pound (23-kilogram) bag of lime onto a pallet. Unfortunately, he failed to check the pallet for nails beforehand, and a nail punctured the bag, causing it to burst and its contents to scatter on the floor.

This is a specially designed adhesive based on polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (pMDI). It is used in the manufacture of molded wood pallets. Use WANNATE®
