Solubility/Dilution
Usually , Bayhydur 401-70 has good compatibility with the listed solvents, but the storage stability of the prepared solution must be tested. Bayhydur 401-70 is fully soluble and dilutable in aromatic hydrocarbons, even without the addition of polar solvents such as esters, ketones and ether esters (such as ethylene glycol butyl ether acetate and diethylene glycol butyl ether acetate) . The product can be diluted to a stable solution with a minimum solids content of 20%, for example with xylene, toluene or higher boiling aromatic compounds such as solvent naphtha 100 or mixtures of aromatic compounds. The stability of the solution should be tested at any time. If a longer shelf life is required, do not add aliphatic solvents when diluting. However, Bayhydur 401-70 has some compatibility with aliphatic solvents added to coatings. Only use polyurethane grade solvents (less than 0.05 % water). The solvent must not contain reactive groups such as hydroxyl or amino groups.
Compatibility
Usually , Bayhydur 401-70 can be mixed with Desmodur®, Bayhydur and Bayhydrol® grades. However, the compatibility of the entire formulation (including solid content, co-solvent content, co-solvent type) must be tested. Bayhydur 401-70 can be mixed with Desmodur® N 3300, N 3600, Bayhydur 3100, most Bayhydrol® products such as Bayhydrol A 145, A 242, LS 2058 and LS 2231.
Features/Applications
Bayhydur401 -70 is primarily used as a co-reactant for waterborne polyol binders in Bayhydrol® products. Due to its hydrophilic nature, Bayhydur 401-70 emulsifies easily in aqueous phases. Addition of Bayhydur 401-70 improves the properties (such as chemical or solvent resistance) of waterborne two-component polyurethane coatings.

This product is sensitive to moisture and should be stored in the original airtight container , and the temperature does not exceed 30 ℃. When stored under proper conditions, this product has a shelf life of at least 6 months. However, viscosity may increase slightly.
